Clara's puppies learn valuable lessons with Annabelle.

Here is Annabelle 'talking' to her new students about respect and manners.
'Nope, no milk there!' says Annabelle with a sly smile.
Learning to show respect to other dogs is critical to good puppy development.
Each of the five puppies is giving Annabelle the proper 'form' of respect in the canine world.
Isn't it just amazing how these young pups understand the hierarchy?
Posted by PicasaI should add that Annabelle is taking over where their mom, Clara Belle has left off.  Puppies need role models to continually learn correct dog behavior.   Annabelle's sweet demeanor and non-threatening personality is perfect for giving these pups good constructive correction.  She is their grandma and everyone knows 'Grandma's Know Best'!  :+)

  1. Annabelle is an amazing dog! Her gentleness and wisdom are so apparent in these photos! And these pups are just adorable - I love the next to last photo, with all of them low to the ground, all spread out. Great shots, Joyce!

  2. How sweet! Has Clarabelle gone home to her family?

  3. Yes! Clara went to her family at just a bit over 5 weeks. She returned for one 'snack' visit and has been with her family since. This is why Annabelle is used to continue teaching the pups proper dog language. It is wonderful to have such a terrific stand in. :+)

  4. What exceptional dogs you have. Such a great breed. I love the picture of them all lying down for her. Yoga class, anyone? I also love all of your witty and funny captions along with the fantastic photos! What a great dog Annabelle is. I guess that's why we all have such terrific dogs!

  5. I have been very lucky to have Annabelle as my foundation Labradoodle. Her personality and intelligence is such a cornerstone of our program. I would clone her over and over if that was possible. :+) Well, maybe I would want to skip the first year because she was a little devil then!!!! Smile.
