They have arrived!

Earlier than I expected, but Cadbury did her job and easily whelped 9 gorgeous puppies last night! We have 5 males and 4 females (I think) - I am still a bit tired. :+) Cadbury has been doing great so far and all appear to be thriving.

  1. Oh My Gosh! All of Clara's puppies look so old now! How the heck are you going to juggle all these puppies. They are such sweet looking chocolates! You are working overtime now Joyce..take your vitamins. Give Lexi a belly rub from us, we are looking forward to take her off of your list of puppies to care for soon. :)

  2. You are too funny! I didn't have to push all nine of those darlings out - Cadbury worked overtime and I just was holding her paw - albeit most of the night! The hard work for me comes at around 3 or 4 weeks and then escalates. Right now, I just keep Cadbury's dish full, give her some encouragement and tell her what a great job she is doing.

Now those big, furry rascals that are still here are another story! They are full of teeth, spunk and meyhem and keep me on my toes! They LOVE to play fetch, wrestle and investigate EVERYTHING. :+)

Soon I hope Cadbury will be moved to the puppy room with her crew and the next group of owners will enjoy watching their furrball grow up. :+)

  3. We gave Rumple the news of his nine new children. He appeared happy ... but then again, he's always happy!

  4. Golly! Notifying you was on my 'To do' list but you beat me to it. I was trying to get individual shots of the litter before I called! (chagrin)

So far, I think only two will have Rumple's trademark white chin.

I finally got a decent night's sleep and am looking them over better today.

Man, that Rumple is batting a thousand! Tell that boy for the millionith time - he is 'the best'!

  6. I know! Hopefully, by the end of this weekend, the bigger babies will be at their new owners!

Cadbury is very easy and gets along really well with my girls, so no issues there. What's another mouth to feed??? :+)

  7. You mean another 10 mouths! They are so cute! I love the helicopter ears. They remind me of my dog "Chuckles" when I was a little girl. He was black with a white chin and necktie and big ears like Yoda!

  8. Ha! Pup ears have a will of their own when so tiny. They eventually 'fall down' normally but till then it is so darn funny!

  10. Me too, Stacia! It will be very exciting to watch their coat colors vary as they grow up. Right now, as I am typing, they are squealing for their favorite nipples - boy are they fiesty when it comes to the milk bar choices!!!
